Psalm 51 was written first, In it is recorded David’s confession of his sin against God with Bathsheba and later making sure her husband Uriah was killed in battle in a cover up scheme. Here in Psalm 32, David describes the torment of body and soul over the guilt that he endured in trying to cover up his sin.
